“What’s The Point?” Guided family-friendly beach exploration day

June 17, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

What’s The Point? is a free, family-friendly event featuring low tide beach tours, community booths, and more at Point Whitehorn Park! Naturalists will meet you on the beach to help you explore the low tide and learn about all the critters, and a geology talk at 11am.

We hold this day of beach fun each year during one of the extreme low tides around the summer solstice. This makes for some of the best beachcombing and wildlife sightings you can get.

Come prepared with sunscreen, water and snacks! Please leave dogs at home.

(Hosted by RE Sources, Cherry Point Citizen Stewardship Committee, Whatcom Land Trust, Port of Bellingham Marine Life Center, Whatcom Conservation District, Garden of the Salish Sea, Whatcom Marine Resources Committee, Whatcom County, and the Department of Natural Resources.
