Reshaping Patterns of Spending and Consumerism

May 18, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

What we buy and who we buy it from matters. Digital devices, clothing, shoes, books, tools, plastic packaging, shelter materials, food, vehicles, bikes, boats, toilet paper, and everything in the corner of your closet is made from materials extracted from the earth which are then manufactured or raised by humans. Oftentimes, this transaction perpetuates the twin threads of ecosystem degradation and oppression of people. But we can shift our patterns of spending to support more regenerative and just communities. Come learn about ways we can modify our consumer habits to improve the health of the planet and the Salish Sea region. Part of the North Sound Stewards community science speaker series.

Education specialist and waste-free wiz Sasha Savoian will present, and you can ask her questions!
