Climate Activist Meeting (February) w/ Rep. Alex Ramel

Meet your neighbors who want to make a difference at our monthly Climate Activist Meetings. Get the latest updates and plan actions for accelerating a just transition to a clean energy economy, while protecting the Salish Sea and people from hazardous fossil fuel shipment expansions. This month:

  • State Representative Alex Ramel will talk about the legislative session, where key climate bills are in the lawmaking process, and how you can get involved.
  • Building electrification in Bellingham: On Feb. 7th, the City Council passed an ordinance that reduces new building’s reliance on fossil fuels and helping meet climate goals. Learn more about what’s in it and what’s next
  • The Bessie Sorts Timber Sale of mature trees in the Lake Whatcom watershed.
  • Bellingham’s decision to replace an aging incinerator at its wastewater treatment plant, Post Point, with a digester that produces biosolids.

**Note this meeting is on a FRIDAY, instead of the usual Thursday**
