Urge wa lawmakers to support funding package to keep WA’s public schools afloat amid a budget shortfall

As an organization with deep roots in local environmental education, providing for the next generation is a core value. Prioritizing fully-funded schools also offers the opportunity to address another facet of climate resilience for the future our youth will inherit — by directly improving our ability to conserve Washington’s valuable mature forests. See the budget proposal.

Solidarity Action: Call for a Coast Salish Longhouse at Xwotqwem (Whatcom Creek)

Ecological and cultural healing in the central Salish Sea region are intertwined. Support the call by Lummi leaders with Whiteswan Environmental to revive a Coast Salish longhouse at Xwotqwem (Whatcom Creek). This longhouse will create and provide culturally safe places for Indigenous communities to heal the Native and non-Native divide, and to teach history, culture, governance, and language to the next generations.

Attend a beach cleanup

To combat plastic pollution in the Salish Sea, RE Sources regularly hosts beach cleanups — as well as cleanups along rivers and lakes — throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties, providing cleanup equipment and a place to connect with like-minded community members.
